Third Lecture "Biblical and Evangelical Subjects in Russian Painting of XVIII-XIX Centuries"

On May, 17 the third lecture "Biblical and evangelical subjects in Russian painting of XVIII-XIX centuries" took place at the university. It was a part of the lecture course “Spitual Fundamentals of Russian Culture”. The lecturer was Vera Vsevolodovna Donets, a senior scientist of State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow). The speech was devoted to the work of the great Russian painters, such as Alexander Ivanov, Vasily Polenov, Viktor Vasnetsov, Ilya Repin, Arkhipov Kuindji Vereshchagin, Aivazovsky. Deep knowledge of the subject, the history of the paintings, peculiar features of creative works of each artist turned ​​the lecture into a holiday for the soul. Students and teachers (there were more than 50 participants) thanked the lecturer with storm of applause.

In June the lecture will be continued. The topic of the next lecture is “Russian musical art”. We expect some experts from Moscow conservatory.
