Chinese students celebrate “Maslenica”

26.02.2020. Students from China studying at ASUHP took part in a performance organized by employees of the Ostrovsky library.
The students were presented with traditional characters of the Maslenitsa event and Russian folklore: Spring and Winter, Baba Yaga, matryoshka. Students were not just spectators, but also participants in fun games and amusements: they played snowballs, "ran on skis", led a round dance, and much more. The culmination of the holiday was a tea party with samovar, pancakes, jam and condensed milk. Friendly communication and a cheerful atmosphere contributed to both familiarity with the culture of Russia and active learning of the Russian language.
In addition, the library staff presented an exhibition of new library books to foreign guests. Students were particularly interested in children's books and the exhibition of books prepared for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war.
