The geography of archaeological excavations is expanding
From July 24 to August 25, 2022, 2nd and 3rd year students of the Faculty of History and Law took part in archaeological excavations. This time, excavations took place on the territory of the Spassky district of Primorsky Krai and were conducted at seven locations: Dubrovskoye-3, Zamanikha Shifernaya, Kronshtadka, Stepanovka, Orlova-6, 7, Gorny khutor-12. All these archaeological sites were located in the construction area of the power line and had to be examined by archaeologists. The monuments date back to the Early Iron Age and, judging by the ceramics discovered during the excavations, belong to the Poltsevskaya archaeological culture.Students of the Faculty of History and Law – Dmitry Andrianov, Ivan Eremeev, Vasily Gordienko and Maxim Seredochny – took part in excavations at the Zamanikha Shifernaya settlement in the area of a non-profit horticultural association located in the Spassky district of Primorsky Krai.
Maxim Seredochny, a sophomore student, shared his impressions of the trip.:
"The organizers of the excavations told us to go to the Primorsky Territory in the city of Spassk-Dalny. It's quite far from Komsomolsk: 20 hours by train. And I actually had to get from the Amur region for about a day and a half. The excavations themselves began on July 22, and we arrived on the 24th and 25th. They met us at the railway station and took us to cottages near the city. This place is called Zamanikha-dacha or Zamanikha-Slate. We stayed there for 31 days, as we left on August 24 and 25. We lived in tents. We were fed 3 times a day. Everything, of course, was paid for. I really enjoyed this expedition. I made a lot of new acquaintances, participated in the excavation process, found interesting ancient artifacts, and earned quite a lot."
