The hieroglyphics competition was held by the Confucius Institute in cooperation with the engineering School
From October 3 to October 21, 2022, the Confucius Institute and the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Engineering School, together with the Komsomolsk-on-Amur International University, held a hieroglyphics competition "Keys in Drawings" among students of secondary schools in the city, district, and other regions of Russia. Students from Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk, Moscow, Orenburg, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District of Noyabrsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Yakutsk, Novosibirsk took part in the competition. To participate in the competition, it was necessary to make a drawing that would display one of the graphemes of the Chinese language in an artistic form using stylization elements. The drawing was supposed to display the meaning of the depicted element.The competition has become extremely popular among schoolchildren, 106 students took part in it.
The competition was held in two stages: at the first stage, about 50 works were selected from the total number of works, which passed to the second stage, and three prize-winners in each category were selected from among the finalists participating in the second stage.
The jury, when making an assessment, was guided by the following criteria: a) compliance with the requirements set out in the Competition Regulations; b) artistry; c) correspondence of the drawing to the semantic content of the grapheme; d) originality of the work.
