On June 6, Russia celebrates the birthday of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, who holds a special place in the heart of every Russian. On this day, events dedicated to Russian literature and the Russian language take place across the country and even around the world. Pushkin remains the most internationally recognized Russian writer, with his literary works known through countless film adaptations and translations into foreign languages.
In anticipation of this day, first-, second-, and third-year philology students, along with professors of the Department of Literature and Russian as a Foreign Language, gathered at the monument to Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin in the lobby of the third university building. This informal forma helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The hosts of the event, second-year students Kristina Bunyak and Alina Starykh, remarked that "Each of us has our own Pushkin." They emphasized: "His poetry helps us understand both Russians and the Russian soul better." Then, during an open mic session, participants shared their favorite poems written by Pushkin. Among the readers were Roman Kuchinsky, Director of the University Library; Anatoly Kuznetsov, Russian language and literature teacher from Gymnasium No. 1; first- and second-year Russian students; Li Jin, a second-year international student, who read a poem in Chinese; Amina Valieva, a first-year student of the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education, who read in Azerbaijani; and Ekaterina Novolodskaya, a third-year student, who recited in English.
The Department of Literature and Russian as a Foreign Language expresses its gratitude to the 1st-3rd year students of the Pedagogical Education program, specializing in Russian Language and Literature, as well as to Leonid Khramtsov, a teacher at the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education, for preparing Amina Valieva..
