Students from Blagoveshchensk and Khabarovsk took the 1st place in the team championship at the VI Regional Olympiad in Chinese among university students of the Far Eastern region.
On February 25, in order to identify, develop and consolidate interest in the study of the Chinese language, literature, linguistics of China, strengthen international relations, the Confucius Institute of ASUHP held the VI Regional Olympiad in Chinese language among students of universities in the Far Eastern region. In the conditions of this sanitary and epidemiological situation, the Olympiad was held online.
This time, teams from five universities competed in knowledge of the Chinese language:
-Amur State University, Blagoveshchensk
-Komsomolsk-on-Amur State University, Komsomolsk-on-Amur
-Amur State University of Humanities and Pedagogy, Komsomolsk-on-Amur
- Pacific State University, Khabarovsk
- Amur State University named after Sholom Aleichem, Birobidzhan
At the beginning of the event, the welcoming speeches were made by the Acting Vice-rector for Scientific Work of ASUHP, Professor Alexander Vasilyevich Gotnoga, Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of ASUHP Andrey Pavlovich Koshkin, also the acting director of the Confucius Institute, Mrs. Li Junyu joined the greetings via online communication.
In accordance with the rules of the Olympiad, each university submitted up to 5 full-time students to participate.
The Olympiad consisted of 3 stages (scientific report, written translation of texts from Chinese into Russian and from Russian into Chinese and speaking). According to the results of which, two teams took the 1st place in the team competition at once: AmSU and PSU, the second was the team of ASUHP and the third place was taken by the team of KNASU.
According to the sum of points for the translation of the texts, Ekaterina Popova from AmSU won the individual competition, Polina Bibchenko from PSU and Olga Merdeeva from PSU named after SA shared the second place, German Novikov, a student of PSU, took the third place.
All the participants received memorable prizes, diplomas and certificates, were able to evaluate and improve their knowledge of Chinese language, culture and country studies of the People's Republic of China.
In conclusion, the mentors of the teams thanked the management of the Amur State University of Humanities and Pedagogy and the organizing committee of the Olympiad for organizing and holding the event, and also expressed their intention to continue participating in such competitions.
